The House

Designed by architect John Robert Mitchell, Comus House was the first structure built on the vineyard property, followed by Denner’s winery, tasting room, and Comus Center—all in keeping with the natural geography and culture of the Central Coast. Here, gently rolling, sun-kissed hills are scattered with clumps of coastal oaks and the occasional stand of stately cypress. Like ribs of corduroy, carefully planted vines spread across the landscape under rosy, Tuscan-hued skies—in shades that range from emerald green to burnished red, depending upon the season.
Welcome to Comus House, your luxurious retreat from the world, located at the top of the lush hills and voluptuous valleys that comprise the 100+ working acres of Denner Vineyards. Aptly named for the Greek god of festivity and son of the wine god Bacchus, Comus House offers four uniquely appointed bedrooms in a sunny, spacious home. The exceptional wood work and impressive doors throughout the house were hand crafted from a 100 year old wine vat. A sprawling living room boasts a magnificent wall of cathedral windows to maximize picture-perfect views, and a crackling wood burning fireplace to take the edge off the cool nights and crisp mornings. An expansive covered wood porch provides outdoor seating for a good long read or a chat with friends. Heavy raw wood beams, vaulted ceilings with skylights, and stylish furnishings lend a rustic, substantial feel to this truly unique, yet authentic California, getaway. Come inside and pick the bedroom that suits you best.

European Breakfast   Start your day with a delicious European-style breakfast. Get cozy in the breakfast nook or sit outside on the patio and enjoy panoramic views, while sipping freshly brewed coffee and espresso, warm pastries and an array of seasonal fruit. Savory sausage, fluffy French toast, homemade quiche and locally made jams are among a few of the delectable breakfasts served daily from 8am to 9:30am.

Sunset Wine Hour   Join us daily for a sunset wine tasting from 4pm to 5pm. Enjoy your beloved Denner wines as we pour them alongside a palatable charcuterie consisting of well paired meats, cheeses, warm nuts, homemade crackers and locally grown olives.

Policies

Check In and Check Out Times
Rooms are available for guests to check-in from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00am.
For special accommodations, including early check-ins please inform us ahead of time. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to check-in. A valid driver’s license and credit card is required at check-in.

Reservations

• Reservations can be made up to a year in advance. In order to guarantee the dates and room requested the reservation must be paid in full at the time of booking.
• The Comus House is designed to provide Comus Club members and referred guests, a relaxing, romantic, wine country retreat therefore, inappropriate for persons under the age of 21.
• Comus Club members receive 15% off their Comus House reservations.
• Only guest with reservations are permitted at the Comus House.

Rooms
Maximum occupancy is 2 per room. There is a two (2) night minimum stay for weekend reservations.

Pets
To ensure the relaxation and comfort for all guests, pets are not permitted.

Smoking
For the health and safety of all our guests, we are a non-smoking establishment (both inside and outside). Violating our No Smoking Policy will result in a $250 cleaning fee.

Cancellation Policy
There is a two week (14 day) cancellation policy. We regret that for cancellations that occur after the two week (14 day) deadline, we will charge you for each room night that we are unable to re-book. This policy also applies to late arrivals and early departures.
An administrative fee of $75.00 will be charged for all cancellations prior to the 2 week (14 day) deadline.
