It took some convincing for the very busy John Robert Mitchell to even agree to view the Denner property, but once he saw it and talked to Ron and Marilyn, he shared their passion - great facility, great location, great people, and of course, a great wine. He first built their home, and now has designed and built the winery and tasting room.
The Denner Winery was completed in time for the 2005 harvest. The Denners and Mitchell believe that great architecture blends in with the environment. Denner Winery, therefore is designed to fit into the rolling hills and is complementary to the geography and culture of the Central Coast. Phase two of the winery, which includes a lounge for wine club members and events center, is slated to be completed in 2009.
For the currently open tasting room (opened in May of 2006), the Denners created a comfortable environment to allow people who love wine to savor it in a relaxed atmosphere. The semi- circular tasting bar allows guests to intermingle, talk about the wines and visit.
