The incredibly inky 2015 Mother of Exiles possesses a powerful nose of strawberries, fresh bay, blueberry, shisha and jasmine. The palate is an exotic mix of browned butter, black currant, cedar and fig. The finish is soft and plush, with floral and flake salt notes lingering for a good minute. 60% Cabernet, 25% Petit Verdot, 15% Merlot. Fermented 100% destemmed. Aged for 22 months in 225L barrels: 77% new, 23% used.The 2014 Mother of Exiles explodes from the glass with aromas of berry compote, rose petal, plums, cedar and crushed rocks. Its concentrated palate shows notes of raspberry, leather, cigar and vanilla. The palate is dense and plush, with a texture like velvet – making it all the more irresistible.
