Vineyard: 100% Estate – Willow Creek District, Paso Robles 

Fermentation: Foot stomped during 7-day cold soak then feral fermented with twice daily delestages. 4 week total maceration. 100% De-stemmed.

Cooperage & Elevage: Aged for 22 months in French oak barriques, 50% new and 50% once and twice used. Bottled unfiltered.

Tasting Notes
The 2014 Mother of Exiles explodes from the glass with aromas of berry compote, rose petal, plums, cedar and crushed rocks. Its concentrated palate shows notes of raspberry, leather, cigar and vanilla. The palate is dense and plush, with a texture like velvet – making it all the more irresistible.

Blend: 65% Cabernet, 30% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot 

Vineyard: 100% Estate – Willow Creek District, Paso Robles   

Fermentation: Foot stomped during 7-day cold soak then feral fermented with twice daily delestages. 4 week total maceration. 100% de-stemmed. 

Cooperage & Elevage: Aged for 22 months in French oak barriques, 70% new. Bottled unfiltered.

Tasting Notes
An intoxicating mix of Kalamata olives, black currant, graphite and plums make up the nose on this hedonistic wine. The palate is intense, with flavors of black cherries, anise and dried herbs. A full bodied mid-palate gives way to a finish that is dense and rich with plenty of polish and elegance.

His long black trench-coat drafts warm air filled with the smells of shag tobacco, dust, worn leather and gun metal. Intense and narrow, his eyes tell stories of restlessness, brawls and confidence. He delivers the smoothest pick-up line without opening his mouth and strolls her right out of the saloon.

Tasting Notes
Well put together and classy, this wine wears a tailored suit and commands respect when it enters the room.  It exudes black cherries, espresso and fine Italian leather. It prefers aged bourbon neat and young bourbon in a Manhattan.  It is endowed with rich tannins but hides them seamlessly behind its inherent approachability.


2010

Blend: 60% Cabernet, 30% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot

Vineyard: 100% Estate – Willow Creek District, Paso Robles

Fermentation: Fermented 10% whole cluster. 

Cooperage & Elevage: Aged 22 months in 80% new French barriques and 20% neutral barriques.

Tasting Notes
This vintage offers up classic Bordeaux aromas of tobacco, black currant, fig and dried bay. The palate is very dense, showcasing berry cobbler, vanilla, and cedar notes. It builds to a chewy mid palate that tightens slightly on the finish giving it great length and hinting at a long future for this cuvée. Fermented 10% whole cluster.

The 2009 Mother is a brooding wine that displays powerful aromas of cassis, new Italian leather, black cherry and cocoa powder. Black fruits, red licorice, tobacco and espresso flavors evolve into a rich, lush and textured mouth-feel that is both intense and focused. The complexity and density of this wine give it sophistication beyond its years.
