Do not be fooled by this wine’s blue-collar namesake, as it is pure sophistication this year.  It has aromas of leather-bound journals, blueberries and pipe smoke. It’s dense and rich, with a sappy, fruit-filled mid-palate and a long silky finish. The Ditch Digger may have hard worn hands, but they roll up the sleeves of a fine suede jacket.

This elegant beauty engages you with raspberry, dried herbs, pepper, and flowers.  It flows across your palate with sappy red fruits, lavender, and rosemary.  It plays with you like a guilty pleasure, continuing to draw you back by hinting at something deeper, darker and more hedonistic.  Refusing to let you have it all at once, this wine will only get better with time.
