100% Zinfandel

The 2016 Zinfandel sings from the glass like quartet of cherry, smoked Hungarian paprika, raspberries and sarsaparilla. There’s an unexpected, yet delicious intersection of savory flavors as olive and anise mingle with blackberry and nutmeg. The dark, dense palate quickly evolves into a silky and seamless finish.

Tasting Notes
The damp soil beneath you feels cool on your knees as it presses into your jeans, but the August sun beads sweat above your collar. As you fill your pail, the thorns from the raspberry bush grab at your sleeves.  A breeze carries the scent of spicy briar, eucalyptus and a nearby citrus grove. You emerge from the thicket, scratched and filthy yet completely satisfied by the collection of seductive wild fruits you’ve rustled.

Like a beautiful rose garden, this Zin seems harmless enough - flaunting an ethereal nose of potpourri, black raspberry, 5-spice and sweet bay. But soon it pricks your palate with black fruits, orange peel, underbrush and chocolate. After making known its dangers it finishes with seductive tannins begging you to reach for it once again.
