Tasting Notes
The 2015 Syrah explodes from the glass with aromas of blackberry, sandalwood, warm blueberry scones, and scorched earth. The fruit notes carry through on the palate and are joined by a supporting cast of allspice, clove, and tar. The finish starts off sleek and polished but shows just the right amount of grip to let you know this beauty will age for years to come.

Tasting Notes
The first notes of the 2014 Syrah are sizzling bacon, blueberries and sandalwood. The dense palate offers layers of intermingling fruit and savory elements: blackberries, espresso, plums and black olives give way to muddled mint notes. The silky mouthfeel yields sweet tannins, offering a little grip on the briny finish.

Cooperage & Elevage: Aged for 14 months in once and twice used French oak barriques.

Tasting Notes
The nose on this is powerful and explosive dominated by blackberries, cigar smoke and black pepper with a mix of savory elements in the background. On the palate, there are flavors of sweet roasted meats, root spices and violets. The finish is lingering and bold, with round tannins and soft acidity.  Hold on to this for a few years or pair with your favorite steak.

2012

Blend: 100% Syrah

Vineyard: 100% Estate – Willow Creek District, Paso Robles

Fermentation: Fermented 20% whole cluster.

Cooperage & Elevage: Aged for 22 months in 225L French oak barriques, 20% new and 80% used.

Alc: 14.5%

Tasting Notes
An intoxicating nose of violets, black olive, blueberry, smoked meats, sandalwood and just a hint of fresh tar. While the nose remains almost as fresh as the day it was bottled, the wine is incredibly more complex today. The palate is also shedding some of its grippy tannins – becoming more round and approachable.  While drinking fantastic now, I wouldn’t hesitate to cellar this for another five years.
