Brooding and powerful, the 2018 Mother of Exiles struts aromas of violet, iodine, sandalwood, blackberry and leather. The dense and chewy palate offers flavors of steeped figs, graphite, cassis, and espresso. The finish is rich and chewy, but surprisingly fresh with lingering acidity and round, polished tannins. This will benefit from a few years in the cellar or decanting.
